Connecting, Leading, and Thriving: Highlights from the 2026 ERG Summit

Connecting, Leading, and Thriving: Highlights from the 2026 ERG Summit article hero image

September is an exciting time at Doximity because we host our annual Employee Resource Group (ERG) Summit. The past two years, this event has taken place in person at HQ, but this year we met virtually. We brought together incoming and returning board members across BIPOC@Dox, Caregivers@Dox, LGBTQ+@Dox, UnorthoDox, and Women@Dox for two energetic days of leadership preparation, strategy alignment, and relationship building. We even managed to bring some fun to the event by sharing a snack box, lunch voucher, and murder mystery activity! The addition of our two new ERGs helped our attendance increase by 47% compared to last year, with 28 Doxers attending the sessions.

The summit is our annual kickoff for the board terms, giving leaders the space to dive deep into expectations, role clarity, and practical tools for driving engagement. Board members explored real-world approaches to fostering collaboration across groups, balancing core responsibilities with ERG commitments, and designing programming that resonates deeply with our broader employee community. We had discussions centered around change leadership, strategic goal setting, and event management, and a favorite session featured direct feedback about the impact of ERG programming and community building from a panel of employees involved in their communities.

It is obviously important for board members to get the skills they need to do their work, but the summit is also an opportunity to highlight the profound, long-term impact that ERGs have on our workplace culture. On day two of the summit, Dr. Amit Phull, Doximity’s Chief Medical Officer, communicated the important role ERGs play in fostering Doximity’s culture. Board members shared that the support of our executive leadership gave them the confidence to lean in and get to work!

In our recent board exit survey, every single board member noted experiencing meaningful professional growth and leadership opportunities through their board service that they would not have had otherwise. What makes me feel most proud is that 94% of board members shared that their service positively influenced their desire to stay and build their careers at Doximity.

In our remote environment, ERGs serve as an antidote to isolation, creating organic pathways for mentorship, growth, and genuine belonging.

As our new board members step into their roles, I absolutely cannot wait to see the impact of their work unfold in the coming year. We believe that ERGs are an incredible asset, providing education, community, and inspiration to our employees who deserve to feel like they belong at work. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, contributed feedback, and continues to make Doximity a workplace where everyone can bring their real selves to work every day.
